What the Journal is
Field notes, local histories, and small discoveries from the shore. A story earns a page when a place has a fact worth standing still for — a name on a chart, a walk that happens before breakfast, a rule that changes the day.
Sources
We prefer primary records: agency pages, park and town rules, historic registers, named reporting, and the people or organizations who keep the thing itself. Marketing copy is a clue, not the last word. If a fact cannot be supported, it stays off the page.
Verification
Fees, hours, ordinances, and seasonal dates move. Each story lists its sources and a date those sources were last checked. Destination guides hold the live utility — parking, stretches, the day’s conditions. The Journal is the longer look.
Independence
beach.guide is the publisher. Hotels, tourism boards, and partners do not assign Journal stories or sign off on the copy.
Corrections
If a line is wrong, we correct the page when the record supports it. Send the URL, the line, and a source to info@dexgate.ai. The short path is on the corrections page.
